4. I live out-of-town. May I consult with you on the phone, to prepare papers for my relative in a nursing home in your area?

Yes, but fairly early in the process, I would need to meet with your relative, because he or she is the actual client, even if you are paying my fee. The Client has to have sufficient understanding to know what the documents are (a Will, a medical directive or whatever) and basically what is in them, and confirm that the arrangement is acceptable. And, even if our discussion is by phone, there would first be a signed Engagement Letter and relevant records provided to me, so that I would have confidence that I was giving proper legal advice based upon the necessary facts.
